Overview
Braille embossing is part of the carton structure, not a graphic effect added at the end. Its supplied text, position and required geometry have to be settled alongside the dieline so the tactile area does not conflict with creases, glue seams, dense printed copy or other finishing elements.
The physical sample is the decision surface. It shows the raised detail on the selected board, its relationship to the printed panel and whether the approved placement survives folding and erection as intended. Market requirements and the Braille content remain inputs from the brand or its authorised regulatory team; production follows the confirmed specification.
The dots are raised by a matched pair of embossing tools, one pressing the board from the back into a recess in the other, and the emboss is often formed in the same pass as die cutting and creasing, so it registers with the carton outline rather than with the print. That is why the Braille panel is chosen at the dieline stage: it needs a flat area clear of creases, the glue flap and the tuck closures, on a face the user will find by touch. The board also has to take the emboss without cracking around the dots, which narrows the board choice.

Who confirms the Braille wording and requirements?
The brand or its authorised regulatory team supplies the approved content and destination-market requirements. Yuan applies that confirmed specification to the carton dieline and sample; the page does not substitute a generic rule for market-specific review.
How is the Braille checked before production?
Its position and tactile result are reviewed on the physical carton sample with the folds and printed layout present. Any required formal verification remains part of the customer's market-approval process.
What should we send to quote a Braille carton?
The carton size or the primary pack, the approved Braille text for each language or strength, the destination market specification, the board you plan to use, the quantity for each version, and the delivery country (for the EU or the UK, also whether you want DDP or DAP). Each Braille text needs its own embossing tool, so the number of versions affects the quote as much as the total quantity.
Can Braille be embossed over printed or laminated areas?
It can be embossed through print, but lamination, heavy varnish or foil on the Braille panel can crack or flatten the dots. The usual approach is to keep that area free of such finishes and to confirm the dot result on the printed, folded sample.
