Overview
Tamper evidence begins with the opening path. A carton can use a glued flap, an applied seal across the closure, or a combination specified for the product and destination market. The useful feature is not decoration; it is a closure whose first opening changes in a way that can be seen.
Carton and seal should be developed as one system. The flap geometry determines where a seal can bridge the opening, while the face stock, adhesive and die shape of the seal follow the carton surface and intended behaviour. Requirements remain market- and product-specific, so the customer supplies the approved standard and the sample proves the chosen construction.
On the carton itself, evidence of opening usually comes from one of three constructions: an end flap glued shut so it must be torn to open, a tear strip or perforated opening that cannot be restored once pulled, or a seal label applied across the closing flap that breaks or marks when lifted. Each one changes the dieline. A glued end needs a glue area kept clear of print that must stay legible, a tear strip needs its perforation set against the board, and a seal needs a flat landing area on both sides of the closure, with a surface its adhesive bonds to.

Tamper-Evident or Standard Tuck Carton
A standard tuck-end carton is simpler to pack and easy to reclose, but gives no sign that it has been opened. Tamper evidence adds a gluing, tear-strip or labelling step and some cost per carton; choose it where the market requires it, or where the product and its route to the patient justify the extra step.

Frequently asked questions
Should tamper evidence come from the carton or a separate seal?
That depends on the approved market requirement, the opening action and whether the primary carton design can carry the feature itself. Both glued closures and applied seals are available, and they can be compared on samples.
Can Yuan produce the carton and its seal together?
Yes. Pharmaceutical cartons and labels are both established product lines, so the closure geometry, seal position, artwork and approval trail can be coordinated as one packaging specification.
What should we send to quote a tamper-evident carton?
The carton or primary pack dimensions, the evidence method you want or the market requirement it must meet, how the cartons are closed on your line, by machine or by hand, the print and coding plan, the quantities, and the delivery country (for the EU or the UK, also whether you want DDP or DAP). If seals are used, say whether they will be applied by hand or by a labeller on your line, since that decides how the seals are supplied.
Can a tamper-evident carton be reclosed after opening?
The carton can, but the evidence cannot be restored: a torn glued end stays torn, a pulled tear strip stays removed and a broken seal stays broken. If patients need to reclose the pack during use, a tuck closure behind the tamper-evident feature allows it while still showing that the pack has been opened.
