Overview
Tea and food caddies use the broad face of a paper cylinder to combine shelf presence with an opening that can be returned to after purchase. The format suits loose products, individually wrapped pieces and gift assortments, but those uses do not all require the same internal construction.
The product, its primary wrap and the expected storage conditions determine whether a separate liner or another barrier arrangement is needed. That requirement must be stated before structure and materials are confirmed; the decorative paper tube itself should not be assumed to provide a particular food-contact or airtight performance.
The caddy is a wide wound body with a closed base and a lift-off lid, wrapped in printed paper. Inside, the arrangement depends on the brief: the product may sit in its own sealed pouches, rest on a card platform, be separated by a divider or be held in a separate liner. Those parts are designed with the tube from the start, because each one changes the usable height, the diameter and how far the lid needs to overlap the body.

Frequently asked questions
Does a paper caddy need a liner?
That depends on the product, its primary packaging and the barrier expected from the complete pack. Provide the contents and use conditions first so the liner and closure can be specified rather than assumed.
Is the decorative paper tube itself airtight?
It should not be treated as airtight unless the complete construction has been specified and confirmed for that requirement. Product protection may instead rely on a sealed inner pack or a separately defined liner and closure.
Can several teas in a range share one caddy size?
Often, and it is worth planning that way. Tube tooling follows the diameter, so a range that settles on a shared diameter, with the height or simply the wrap changing from blend to blend, costs less to repeat than one sized exactly to each product. Fill weights decide which blends can share a size without looking under-filled, and the wrap artwork carries the difference between them.
What should a tea or food caddy enquiry include besides the fill weight?
How the product is packed inside, whether loose, in pouches or individually wrapped, any storage requirement it has, the order quantity and the artwork. If the caddy is part of a gift set, include the other items and the outer pack so the tube can be sized to sit in it. Give the delivery country, the date you need the caddies and, for the EU or the UK, whether you want DDP or DAP.
